Dr. Koide is currently on a research trip to Japan, where he is studying fungi. His research focuses on ecology and he loves teaching in both the lab and the classroom. It's his favorite part of his job!
Dr. Koide graduated with a BA in Zoology from Pomona College and then went to UC Berkeley for his PhD in Botany. He is the father of 3 children and has 6 grandchildren. Dr. Koide wants to support students in all aspects of their lives and believes that "curiosity is the key to success in school." When not in the lab or teaching, Dr. Koide enjoys working on cars, gardening, and fly fishing.
