Lab Narrative: I took Bio 120, field biology, from Riley Nelson in the fall of 2023. It was in that course that I learned so much about how to stop and look at what was around me. My appreciation for plants, birds, and insects grew greatly. I work in the lab with flies, specifically looking at Syrphidae and sorting them out of collected Megafire samples. I have enjoyed all the new knowledge I've learned about from Riley on insect identification, plant identification, but most importantly, how cool and voluptuous flies are.
