Internships and Volunteer Opportunities

Patagonia Field Studies Program: Do an internship or mentored research in South America (Chile, Argentina).  Research related to speciation and phylogeography.   Winter Semester 2010.  If interested, contact Laura Scott - patagonia.byu@gmail.com or in 109 WIDB.  Spanish is not required and some financial scholarships are available. 

Internships with the Conservancy of Southwest Florida--Must be at least a senior, Stipend~ $150/week

 Project Bull Shark: Internship, Ponta Marine Lab 2009, Oceans Research and Shark Life. Starting in August must commit for at least one month. For undergraduates and graduate students.

Dolphin Encounters: Volunteer opportunity in Mozambique Africa. Work with researchers to collect and correlate data in the Ponta do Ouro area. Volunteer programs are run in one month durations.

Wildlife Rehabilitation: Internship opportunity in Miami Florida. Two positioins are available every semester to work with Native Florida wildlife and migrating birds. This internship includes opportunities to observe surgeries and necropsies. As well as participating in activities put on by non-profit organizations. Housing available along with a stipend for meals.

The Busch lab at Washington State University is seeking independent, creative and highly motivated graduate students with interests in genetics, evolutionary biology, and ecological genetics.  At the moment, there are positions open for two students at both the Ph.D. and M.S. level
